StoryCivic life since 1935

A Silver Jubilee gift that became a village institution

Sir Archibald and Lady Weigall gave Jubilee Park to Woodhall Spa to mark the Silver Jubilee of King George V in 1935. Opened by Princess Marie Louise, the park brought together gardens, recreation and community life in one generous village space.

The bandstand, cricket ground, children’s play area and heated outdoor pool each tell part of its continuing story. Rather than a monument frozen in time, Jubilee Park is heritage that is still used: for sport, music, swimming, family days and village events.
