REAL BUILDINGS, GENUINE EXHIBITS & HUMAN STORIES

Thorpe Camp occupies surviving buildings from RAF Woodhall Spa’s No. 1 Communal Site, constructed in 1940. The preservation group established the visitor centre in 1988 to commemorate those who served here.

Displays cover 97, 619, 617 and 627 Squadrons, civilian life in 1940s Lincolnshire, the Women’s Land Army, Home Guard, prisoners of war, Arnhem, the Cold War and the history of the Air Training Corps.

Published opening: 2026 published season: Easter Sunday, then Sundays and bank holidays to the end of October, plus Wednesdays in July and August; 1–5pm, last entry 4pm.

Published visitor information: Published admission: £7 per person; under 12s free; serving military personnel with ID free.
