A SMALL BUILDING WITH A BIG WOODHALL STORY

John Wield and the Cottage Museum photographic story

A RARE HOME FILLED WITH REAL LOCAL MEMORIES

The museum occupies a rare surviving corrugated-iron and timber bungalow made by Boulton & Paul. It was the Wield family home from 1887 until the 1960s, so visitors encounter local history in the rooms where it actually happened.

John Wield’s extensive photographic collection captures Woodhall Spa and its people across decades. Family possessions, toys, games and changing displays make the museum approachable for both adults and younger visitors.
