A cinema hidden among the pines
The building opened as the Pavilion Cinema in September 1922 and became affectionately known as the Kinema in the Woods. Its secluded setting, traditional character and independent programme have made it one of Woodhall Spa’s defining attractions.
During the Second World War the cinema was nicknamed the “Flicks in the Sticks”, serving a village transformed by nearby RAF activity. It remains a working cinema, so current films, tickets and opening information are best checked live. This heritage stop focuses on the building and its place in village life rather than duplicating the changing programme.
